Yummy goodness!

I just love when the weather gets a little cooler! We are still enjoying our family bike rides on our tandem when time permits.

This summer, my mother-in-law introduced me to a local farmers market and I must say, once you have experienced local produce, you will become a snob and never want to buy it from the grocery store again. There is just no comparison in taste. The one near my house just closed up for the winter, but I got online and found another farmers market a little farther away. It's well worth a little drive, especially if produce makes up a large part of your diet. This most recent trip, I got some fabulous corn that was gobbled up that very day, beautiful sweet potatoes (I turned these into Christy's sweet potato casserole) and carrots that were made into carrot soup from Two Sisters. By the way, if you have not tried the carrot soup from Two Sisters, you must! The small amount of cayenne pepper just makes this dish shine. Mmmmm!!

Oh, and I got some raw local honey as you can see from the pic. :)

Kira has been letting me put her hair in a ponytail lately so I had to commemorate the moment by taking a picture!

She looks like such a big girl with her hair up!

  1. Kira looks so cute as usual. This post made me hungry and that's great that you have access to some good farmer's markets! Fresh produce is so much healthier for you and definitely better tasting.
