Cranberry Festival and hoedown

Saturday I made plans to check out the cranberry festival with Mom and Dad. We went to the apple festival together a couple months ago and it was a lot of fun so I thought this would be a similar experience. Let me just say, I know now that not all festivals are created equal! This one was like a big flea market and totally not my style at all. Also, huge crowds! It didn't take us long to determine that we didn't want to be there anymore! Oh well, you can't pick winners all the time I suppose!

I don't consider our trip a total loss though because I still got to hang out with my parents and enjoy a scenic drive away from the crowds through the cranberry bogs. We even stopped at a roadside farm stand on the way home where I picked up a gorgeous looking eggplant and potatoes.

This was supposed to be one of the main attractions of the cranberry festival and it was absolutely ridiculous. The wolves were kept behind this chain link fence and they were charging people $10/person just to go in there and pet them. The line to pet them was long, but I butted in so I could take a picture of this madness!

The day was not a total bust though, that evening I took K down to our alma maters annual hoedown.

There was a big turnout! The tent was full of students!
